Penny Black and Sketch Saturday

We went to my youngests school fete today. It was marvellous pearly kings and queens, barbie, candyfloss, 2 bouncy castles, facepainting and loads more. It was a celebration of the nursery being open for 70 years. Heres to another 70. The pearly queen wanted to take Max home with her. She thought he was so sweet. We put him in an England kit that a friend gave to me.
I made this inbetween washing sheets, cleaning and the trip to the fete. The sketch is from sketch saturday . The theme I used from Penny Black challenge which is soft and sweet. For soft I used the soft colours and ribbons on my card. The sweet is the image and the cake in the image. The papers are Minds eye.

Friday sketchers

I made this card for the Friday sketchers challenge which has a lovely sketch to interpret. I used my new Edwin Zookeeper stamp and the silhouette stamp both by Magnolia. I created a sign using alcohol inks, the silhouette stamp, rubbons, corkboard and card distressed with distress inks. I used the sketch to create the background. I used made some grass to add to the green and I made a trailing plant using some stamps from my stash. I coloured in Edwin with promarkers.

Are you on facebook?

Good afternoon another card from me today. Are you on facebook. If you are why not pop over and seek out passion for promarkers they are having a party and there are prizes on offer. Here is my interpretation of Ida's gorgeous sketch. It is also my entry for the DCM challenge which is "Away with the fairies". The image is whiff of joy, the swirls are Basic grey the papers are K&co and the image is distressed with distress inks. I used my cool grey 1,2 and 3 to colour the image.

An award from Sue and two challenge cards!

I have been busy using my Tilda and Edwin stamps recently and have really enjoyed playing with them so I thought I would share these images on my challenge cards for today.
I made this card for the Just Magnolia challenge . I used distress inks around the image and I used this also on the papers. I used Laura Ashley papers and K&co papers. I used promarkers to colour the image. I used a couple of shaped buttons amongst the floral embellishment. I used some little flowers and gems to creat the illusion of a hanging floral display around Tilda.

Just Magnolia challenge

The second card is for the Creative Card crew and it is to create a scene. I used my high hopes forest and my new safari Tilda. I used promarkers, Basic grey papers and some brads.

Cupcake challenge - Blooms and Butterflies

Well what a week! It started off with clearing Nitty Nora ,my nine year old daughter. Although going on the amount of eggs I found that will be for a week or so yet!!!!
My son went to the hospital yesterday about his teeth. He has very unique teeth. He has fused teeth and extra teeth. A gene that throwbacks to my Dad who was born with extra fingers on each hand. His grandfather had extra toes. Well not only does Harry have this he also had faulty enamel growth. This apparently was because I had a virus whilst pregnant or he had a virus very young. Two teeth have decayed badly so he needs to have major works done on them over 3 months. Still at least he will be good once it is done.
My project for the Cupcake challenge is another gift bag for the teacher ( containing yes you guessed my cards. I used Basic grey papers I think they are the cupcake range. I used a cereal box and added some pearlecent papers, prima flowers, spacer beads, stickles and a stamped butterfly by The crafty pad. I attatched my ribbon with eyelets and my crop-a- dile.

I added some more christmas papers from DCWV. I also used some burgandy paper from my stash which I punched with my Martha stewart doily punch. I then added a sentiment from the cutting cafe that i cut out and added paper to.

Daring Cardmakers challenge - Russian

I was a bit stumped by this one but I copied Sue and I googled Russian and looked at the images. The first thing that sprung to mind was the shape of the buildings in Moscow so I used my baubles cut from DCWV paper. I then thought what Russia meant to me "Battleship Potemkin" The 5 year plans, Stalin, Lenin, Communism and as I grew up the cold war and Gorbachov (who I saw at Harrods when I worked there). The cold war is now over and there is PEACE so I used this as my sentiment. I hope it fits this weeks dare and this week it was a real brain teaser.
So here is my card for the Daring Cardmakers challenge.

My friend who is a songwriter and artist is playing. The Batchelors, The Blockheads and Alexander O Neal are also on.

Just Magnolia - Mina's sketch

Hello I have just got back from my visit to see Mr Simon Hughes who is our MP. He believed I had lots of good points to make and agreed strongly that we needed our own housing. I am hoping this time his correspondance will have an impact.
This is my card for the Just Magnolia challenge and it was to follow a sketch by Mina. Loved the sketch. She is coloured with Promarkers.

Cute card Thursday meets Simon says Stamp

Hello there the weather has been awful this week not sure what happened there. I am home again today. I have to see my local MP tomorrow about housing so I want to prepare for that and I have to meet my daughters primary school teacher this evening so will have less time to prepare. My daughters nursery teacher told me she is not coming back until next term and finishes tomorrow as she has time owing. I have made her card but had to dash to Tesco to buy some candles to alter, so I have a present for her.
Anyway I have made this card for the Cute card thursday challenge, my son's teacher who leaves this term. I made the blackboard using black card and corkboard and some white gelly pen. I paperpieced The greeting farm stamp which makes it eligable for the simon says stamp challenge too.

Creative card Crew meets Truly Scrumptious

Hello again on a bit of a roll today getting lots done. I managed to fit some housework inbetween the cards so must be doing well today. I made this card for the creative card crew who have challenged us to use ribbons. They have a bag of ribbons as a prize so go and take a look. Also I used the sketch and theme from Truly Scrumptious . The theme is black and white and one other, so I used pink as my one other. I hope you like my card I am really pleased with this one my fave for today.

Passion for promarkers - Cornflower Blue and Cocoa and a sketch

Hi my entry for Passion for Promarkers this week. I inked up another of my Popcorn bear stamps and coloured him using my Promarkers. Apart from Cornflower blue and Cocoa the two colours for this weeks challenge I used sandstone, ivory, Pastel pink, Aqua, Olive, Forest Green and for the duck, pastel Yellow, pumpkin and Lemon.
I used K and Co papers, the flowers are made using flowers from my stash and the wonderful sketch from the challenge.

The Sugar bowl - Judys sketch and Sparkle theme

Hello I am home this morning. Yesterday morning I had to take my eldest son Harry to the dentist as he had excruciating pain on holiday. He is going to have to have two teeth extracted under sedation. I am a little panicky about it he is calm as anything. I will get a letter from the dentist today.
I am also a bit annoyed, I am annoyed that our council has no contingency plan for emergency's. As you will of seen on the news there was a major fire in Camberwell. Over 100 people need to be housed so they are going to use the properties off the homesearch list which means that we are being shoved back to the bottom of the pile again. Grrr...rant...grrr.
I have to mention how touched I was by the Michael Jackson Memorial service. His family came across as genuine and very real. I felt the emotional highs and lows.
I wish his family well and am keeping them in my prayers.
Onto the card, this one is for The Sugar Bowl challenge which is to follow Judy's lovely sketch and include some sparkle. I have used my sparkle spray by crafters companion on my backing papers and added some gems.

Sketch and Stash

I made this card for the sketch and stash challenge. I used my new popcorn bear stamp. They are just so darling!!!!! I kept my take on the sketch very simple as these stamps are quite large so do not need a lot of fuss around them. I used some K&co papers and coloured with promarkers. I used a woodware flower punch. I love colouring my popcorn bears so be prepared to see a few over the next few weeks. Gonna cost me a fortune!!!!!

Friday sketchers meets A spoonful of Sugar

Hi there I used the sketch from Friday sketchers and the theme " Summer " from A spoonful of sugar to make this card.
Think I may of finally caught up now and what a buzz it has been crafting all weekend long. I think the break inspired some creativity in me.

Whiff of Joy _ Recipe

Whiff of Joy have given us a recipe this week to follow. It is 3 patterned papers, I paper pieced the dress and used two contrasting papers on the background, 3 flowers and one ribbon. I used my new bride and greetings stamps. If you haven't invested in some of these from Whiff of joy do, they are just a dream to play with.
