Guest Designer at Sketch and Stash

I was highly delighted to be asked to join the wonderful girls at Sketch and Stash for their next two challenges. I love the sketches that they offer every fortnight. I have made the card below following this weeks sketch.
I used my neglected stash which is the Guardian Angel Gorjuss girl by sugar nellie. The papermania boutique papers and gemstone coredination card are my new stash. The brads, ribbon and the snowflake are from my neglected stash too.
I coloured in using promarkers and I paperpieced the dress. I used a sentiment from my new Darcies stamps from sugar nellie.
If you get a chance hop over and check out the other DT's and the sketch it is wonderful. You never know you may get picked to be their next GDT and there is a chance to win some fab goodies from the creative cottage x

Winter Wonderland

Hello and a good morning to you all. Hope everyone had a good Saturday night and have a wonderful Sunday planned. I am having my mum over for the day and she is staying over so we can spend some time together tomorrow too.

This card is my DT card for Winter Wonderland . This week we have a choice you can make a card using the theme of Pantomime or you can use Anne's awesome sketch. Or if you like you can combine the two.

I used my new Whiff of joy stamp and I think she is quite princess like. I used Anne's sketch and created a window and seat for her to sit on so she could gaze for her prince out of it. I added a sentiment and some snowflakes and some Holly in the corner to compliment her holly on her hat. I used gemstone card in colours that matched my colouring. She is my Snow Queen!

This week we are sponsered by The Cutting Cafe so hop over to our blog and check out the sketch and the other DT's cards for inspiration you will not be disappointed x

Sketch Saturday

Well not long now and I can sit back, relax and watch the twins my dose of pleasure every Saturday. I heard they may be doing Ghostbusters tonight. Lets hope they include the marshmallow man in the set!!!!

Talking of sets Clint Eastward has been recording his new movie 500 yards or so from our flat. Matt Damon is starring in the movie and was there too. How cool is that. It was 1989 last time Clint was recording a movie in the UK. He is directing this one.

Well I decided Debbies sketch,at sketch saturday, would look great on a tall card. I have used my new stamp from the Whiff of Joy winter kit and he is just so adorable as are all Elizabeth Bell images. I kept a very neutral colour combination. I added some drama with the black and white. The papers are dovecraft.

The Greeting Farm GDT call and Fresh Farm Friday challenge

I have entered the Competition for the Guest DT spot at The Greeting Farm. The challenge is to make a card using images by Marina Neira as the design work will be with her images. If you have not tried using these images yet they are amazing to work with. I have several of the digi images.

The Greeting Farm is having a Guest Designer Search to work specifically with the WONDERFUL Animal images by Marina Neira!

We are looking for someone to work with these adorable critters for our next release (beginning approx a few days before 12/1/09 through 12/31/09. Are you interested?

Hop on over to the blog for full details of how to enter the challenge.

I have coloured the image with promarkers and Sakura stardust pens. I have used the papermania boutique papers (OMG I love these) I used my new tonic punch system for the borders. I used some ribbon and a charm for embellishments and added some gems too. I used four digi images so I could decoupage the image and finally added some liquid applique as snow.

The Sugar Bowl - Judy's sketch and Thankfullness!

Hi everyone I hope everyone is enjoying a lovely sunny day like we are here in London. Lets hope it stays like this for the weekend fireworks. We went to watch our local display on Thursday and I must say it was fab and the weather was so mild.
Well not long now until christmas and I have just off loaded some cards to sell for charity so I am furiously making more cards for my own personal use. So here is another christmas card.
I made it using Judy's sketch at the sugar bowl challenge blog. The theme is thankfullness so I made a thank you/ christmas card for one of the teachers at school. I used this beautiful country cousins stamp by sugar nellie. I love her. I coloured her with Promarkers and sakura stardust pens. The paper are HOTP and I added some sentiments and a brad.
Well off to make some more christmas cards hurrah and to unpack some shopping boo.

Whiff of Joy challenge - got my new goodies!

So so happy my new Whiff of joy christmas stamp kit arrived today and it is so gorgeous. I had to enter this weeks Whiff of joy challenge (apologies ladies I have not joined you for a while). I used this little cutie and sat her on the log masking out the flower. I coloured her with promarkers and added doodles. I used HOTP papers and the sentiment comes with the kit. I punched out some snowflakes with my new woodware punch and added stickles in the middle. The theme for this week is Red cream and one other colour (in my case brown). I hope you like it. I am very pleased with the outcome.

Daring Cardmakers - Get Punchy!

Hi again second post of the day already!!! I made the two cards I am posting yesterday so catching up really. Kids are back at school :( and baby boy is asleep ( he is so grumpy at the moment. I made this card for the Daring Cardmakers challenge which is :

I love punches and use them on almost every card I make. This week I want you to join with me and make a card, any type, any theme but it needs to use your latest craft punch purchase. If you haven't bought any punches for a while or don't own any at all your latest craft purchase will be quite acceptable.

I punched some squares with a punch I acquired from my friend. I stamped onto them with papermania stamp duo's I then layered onto silver mirror card and some white card. The papers are papermania boutique (love these they were on offer at The glitter pot) I then added a punched border (Martha Stewart doily lace) and some snowflakes (woodware) which is my latest punch purchase.

I added doodles and a sentiment.

Anyone for Anya !

Hello another card for christmas. I am entering this one into the Anyone for Anya contest. They want us to use the colours that represent our nationality. I am half French and half British so red white and Blue for me.

I made a blue card blank and coloured in Miss Anya Snow using promarkers. I added liquid applique for the fluffy bits. I then cuttlebugged the christmas tree embossing folder onto whitewash cordinations card and buffed with a nail file. I used dovecraft papers for the backing and sentiment and added a charm and a ribbon.

Not used to using this colour combo so not sure if it works or not.

Just Magnolia - Monochrome

The challenge at Just Magnolia is to make a card using monochrome. I chose traditional black(and tones of) and white.
I used the gorgeous elephant and made a sentiment on the computer. I love having my printer again. I used granola papers by Basic Grey, the ribbon is from my jogging bottoms as it came out and I couldn't get it back in!!!
I have made a shephards pie so just need to put the peas on and I am off for our lunch. The rain has stopped yippee!!!

Winter Wonderland DT - Jingle Bells

Can you hear the peace and quiet well I can. I have sent three little ones off to the childhood Museum in Bethanel Green with daddy as my ears and patience have come to the end of there tether. I am cooking a shephards pie and watching the rain pouring down outside. My eldest daughter is colouring an image for a contest on The Greeting Farm blog.
The wind is howling outside it is quite ferocious. Right moan over now onto cardmaking....

This week at Winter Wonderland the challenge is to make a card or project using the theme Jingle Bells. I do not have any images with bells on and I lost a wee charm I brought a while back, so I resorted to getting an image off a CD rom. I decoupaged the Bells and added some liquid applique for snow. I then matted and layered the image and added a tarten bow and a sentiment.
I like traditional christmas cards as much as I love unusual ones so it made a change to be more traditional in my approach. I enjoy technique too so I enjoyed not just stamping and colouring for a change.
Check out the other DT members cards and projects at their individual blogs and leave them a comment to let them know you have visited I am sure they will be delighted.

I am off to card make in a corner somewhere until the rain stops LOLx

Daring Cardmakers - Favourite things

Hello I have made this card for the Daring Cardmakers challenge:-

"These are a Few of My Favourite Things"

This is a chance to go mad with the papers, embellishments, tools and styles you really love to use.
I'd like you to use at least 5 of your own personal favourite things on your card this week - if you can make it 10 then you can claim our DCM Gold Star - virtual, of course lol.

So my favourite things are all encorporated into the card as follows:

1. A square card blank
2. Inkibilities (cranberry, denim and bottle) used for decorating the flower and background for the flower.
3. A black sakura glaze pen I love using pens to enhance cards.
4. I have used dryembossing to make the central flower and the frame for the sentiment.
5. A bit of sparkle in this case the gems and stardust pen.
6. my favourite colours purple, black and white.
7. Gingham ribbon
8.Stamping I used a clarity corner stamp to create a frame.
9.I made my own embellishments by using a flower punch.
10.I used a rub on for the sentiment.

Winter Wonderland - Open Theme

Hi everyone did you all enjoy that extra hour in bed here in the UK? My children didn't know the clocks went back and so they got up at the normal time!!! The sun is shining today so I can get my sheets washed and dried and hopefully we can take a walk up to the Thames or something later.
Okay this week at Winter Wonderland we have an Open Theme sponsered by Delicious Doodles our very own DT member Teri S's fabulous shop. There is a prize of three of her digital images of your choice.
Teri gave the DT this gorgeous Dove (not just for christmas a great image for sympathy cards too) image to do with what we liked. The great thing about digital stamps is that you can resize them to suit your project. I made two projects a christmas decoration and a card.
I did not have a printer at the time we decided on the theme so Teri kindly sent me six images to play with of varying sizes.
The dove is white so I thought I could add colour and pattern and it could be the partridge in the pear tree so the stamp has versatility. I stamped a paperartsy swirl stamp with a water resist ink. I then embossed with clear embossing powder. I used my inkibilities a drop of butterscotch, cranberry and eggplant on the special sponge and spritzed with water and then I rubbed over the image. I highlighted the eye with a white pen and copic fineliner pen.
I also added some pearlescent glitter pen to some of the stamped detail.

To make the decoration I poked a hole in the top wing threaded through some wire and beaded it. I then added some ribbon as a hanger.

The card I made using one of the doves i made using the above technique. I used my majestic embossing board from keepsake to create the dry embossing on the card. I added ribbon and a charm.

Just Magnolia card and Fresh Farm Friday and Saturday sketch card

Hello there the weather has finally brightened up a tiny bit. We were supposed to go out with the kids but unfortuately it has been raining so Jimmy has just taken the youngest three out. My eldest daughter is at a club. I have been a busy cardmaker today producing these cards.

The first card is for the just magnolia challenge a sketch by Martine. I used promarkers to colour the image and added some liquid applique and some stardust pen. I used basic grey granola papers.

The second card is for the Sketch Saturday challenge and Fresh Farm Friday challenge . I used the sketch from sketch Saturday and flipped it. The challenge at FFF is to use 2 punches (you must use a Greeting Farm stamp or digi stamp) I used Hope and Grace and Mcsplendid cow. I masked the images to create a scene and then created a background. I doodled around the image and added a die cut picket fence. My punches I used are the flower punch and corner punch for the sentiment. The image is coloured with a mixture of inkibilities and promarkers and the papers are cosmo cricket.
Fresh Farm Friday are giving away a prize per 30 entries so if you own a Greeting Farm stamp join in!!!!

No new card but a new hairstyle and home!

Hello there I have no new card to show you as this week has been hetic. The headteacher got welcomed by the church into the school so I attended the service for that. My eldest daughter has had some friendship problems at schools so I have had to attend to that too. A friend needed a shoulder to cry on so I have been there for her too. So I have not found the time to play much this week.
I had my hair cut and the photo below is not the doing it justice but will give you an idea of it. That is my eldest daughter Georgina and my youngest son Max in the picture with me.
The other photos are of the new flat. I hope you can see beyond the mess and not yet unpacked boxes LOLx

The entrance I had some storage built here and the boxes will disappear soon so imagine them gone!

The eating come kitchen zone in the open plan living area. The table folds away to give you more space as and when required.
