Winter Wonderland #5 - A Christmas Cracker

The challenge at Winter Wonderland is a real challenge for all of us crafters. It is to make a christmas cracker. Please be upstanding as this is the first ever one I have made. So if it looks rather amateur this is why. I do hope you can find time to do one it is so rewarding once it is completed. I think I will make our own this year.
I am in Butlins on holiday right now so I have scheduled this post to go out. I am hoping the weather is good and I am enjoying myself see you all when I get back :)

FROM THIS:

what you will need:
Toilet roll
Christmas design paper - I made my own out of a piece of A4, Greeting farm stamp and promarker and copic pens
string
Image
fancy punch
coordinating paper
Something to put inside your cracker.

I firstly decorated the A4 paper. I then took my first toilet roll and placed it in the centre of the paper. I then rolled it around the toilet roll. I used some doublesided tape to secure it. I also used the other two toilet rolls to ensure the paper kept it's shape and the snapper stayed in place. I then pulled them out and twisted one end of the roll. I secured with fancy string. I then added the treats to the inside and secured the other side.
I used my fancy punch to make a pretty edge to each end of the cracker and I made and oval for my main image to sit on.

My final Guest DT for Daring cardmakers :(

Hello I will be on my way to Butlins right now so I have scheduled this post. I hope you all had a good week. This is my final Guest DT for Daring Cardmakers . I have really enjoyed my stay. Of course I will continue to enter the challenges each week as they are so unique. I am so glad I got to participate in this one though. This week the dare is set by Sue and it is to make a childrens card. A special childrens card to be sent to a child through Post Pals . If you have not heard of post pals please pop over to there site it is a very worthy cause.
I made this scene card using my crafters companion, cute companion summer stories outside set of stamps. I have used no less than ten stamps on this card. I did not mask ,cor can you imagine that. I stamped and cut out. I coloured with a mixture of copic pens, promarkers and watercolour pencils.
I made the windbreaker from cocktail sticks some linen and then stamped the image on randomly and coloured with fabric pens. I added pearls and dewdrops to the shells to give more texture. These cards are often used to distract children whilst they have treatments or medication so I thought that it would be great to have a lot going on to distract them. Texture is lovely on a card especially if you are tactile which children often are.

Hello a quickie before I go. Colour create - pistachio, aqua and powder pink

I have nearly packed and I have cleaned the bathroom and kitchen thouroughly. Just time to sit down and make a quickie card before I finish.
Immediately when I saw the colours at colour create I knew I had to make a card for a baby. These are all pastelly shades perfect for a baby card. Well an excuse really to get my WOJ stamp out again really.
I got a delivery of some lemonade papers this afternoon so I used these. I made the flowers by stamping on 3 of the papers adding stickles to the centre. I made the journalling box using a rubber stamp an oval template and then drawing lines on. I coloured with copics to match the image. I then added rub-ons for the text. I added stickles to accent. I coloured my image and I added a rubon ribbon to the bottom of the card and stamped my sentiment.
I may off gone off slightly from the colours but I think this matches them reasonably well.

Simon Says Stamp combined with Truely scrumptious

Hello I have made this card using 2 challenges Simon says stamp has a theme of Happy Mail. Please pop over there as they are asking us to make a card for post pals a very worthy charity that you must go and checkout.
The sketch is from Truely scrumptious who also ask us to dig out old stash and stamps to make our cards.
I used my cute Messy rabbit stamps by Joanna Sheen (had those a while and not used them) . I used an old Basic Grey paper " Cupcakes", some old buttons got used too.
I kept the card quite bright as it will be for a child. Now just need to put this on the challenge blog then off to pick a recipient.

Whiff of Joy - Heathers Sketch

Hi there this is my entry for the Whiff of Joy challenge. It is a marvellous sketch by Heather . I have to thank Joey for lending me her Summer Kit to have a play with. Mine is currently caught up in the postal system. I love the stamps they are beautiful to work with as are all Whiff of Joy stamps. I should be packing or cleaning but could not resist a quick play.
I used the apple accessory stamps to make a window scene. Just so hooked on scene making. I made some curtains using fabric pens and the bowl stamp. I matched the papers which are from Basic grey. Going to be quick today as I have to get on as I have an hour spare to get something done. My two youngest had there BCG today so I am watching for side effects although they say it is much better these days.

Creative Card Crew and Sketch Saturday

Hi I have combined the sketch at sketch saturday with the theme at Creative card crew for this card. The theme at Creative card crew is whatever the weather. I used my cute companion stamp it was an exclusive with a CD rom. I used paperpiecing and promarkers for the image. I kept this incredibly simple.
I am a very happy bunny tonight I have a friend moving to do missionary work in South Africa and she asked me if I wanted to raid her craft stash before she left. Well I have a huge bag of embellishments, ribbons and bits. I have a fiskars punch and copious amounts of cardstock. I am so grateful to her and God bless her and her husband in the work they are to do. They will be looking after very sick children, becoming surrogate mum and dad.

Passion for Promarkers - Meadow Green and Lemon

Hello I hope you are all having a good week I am babysitting my washing machine and tumble dryer trying to get all my sheets washed and keep on top of the washing before we go away on Friday.
I made this card for the Passion for promarkers challenge. I was having a play making a card for a friend and used a similar design and loved it so this is my second attempt but both are very different.
The colours to use are Meadow Green and Lemon. I used Ivory, Olive and Apple on the clothes and hair too. Skin colours I used Blush, coral and Dusty Pink.
I paperpieced the Alota stamps armchair with HOTP papers, the carpet is these papers too. The wall paper is K&co papers. I coloured in some calico with the lemon pen and stamped it with a Basic Grey stamp. I then used my sewing machine to make a blind is it roman style I am not too sure. Wouldn't mind some like this when I move (if we ever get somewhere). I used cocktail sticks too. I am rubbish at sewing so don't think it is hard to do if I can do it anyone can.
Remember all those hours pacing the living room at night!!!! I think I still do sometimes but hopefully not for much longer!!!!

Fresh Farm Friday - The Greeting Farm challenge 3 stamps.

I have made this card for the Fresh Friday challenge set by The Greeting Farm on a Friday. I love using more than one stamp on a card. As many of you know I love a scene card. I made this one using Hula Anya, bring you sunshine greeting stamp (hope and grace) and I used the flower ,from the hope and grace stamp, as a sun. I hope you like it. I used paper for the sand and sea. I used promarkers to colour in the images. I used a tiny bit of flower soft on her skirt to create a real hawain feel. I used a bunch of lillies to fall over the side of the card like a bush.

Winter Wonderland - Week #4 I'm dreaming of a Blue Christmas

Hello everyone ,so it is already week 4 of the Winter Wonderland challenges. It has been so delightful visiting everyones blogs and seeing their christmas cards. It is also so good that everyone is having such a good time whilst joining in each week.

we have a fabulous giveaway too which will be sent to one lucky player who's name is drawn randomly - check back next Saturday to find out who!! The kit includes some stamped images of the one's used on Anne's projects this week, including a fabulous snowman stamp very kindly donated by Funky Kits!

This week the team would like to see you use Blue in your christmas projects or cards.

I decided to use my gorgeous sugar nellie stamp to make this card. I brought her with the intention of making christmas cards. So here is my first christmas card using her.
I am into making scene cards at the moment so here is a little christmas scene. I used a brayer to make the night sky and window. I masked off the frame and the moon and then used blue inks on my brayer to ink the sky. I then used a snowflake stamp inked with versamark to create snowflakes in the ink. The versamark takes the ink away.
I then made some mini curtains using some linen that I coloured with fabric pens. Then I stitched them with my sewing machine, a good way to practise stitches. I made a curtain rail from card and gems ,to hang them on. I added a christmas backing paper as the wallpaper and a strip of card as the skirting board and pale blue paper as the carpet. I placed my girl walking past the window to place her present under the tree.
Can't wait to visit all your blogs to see your christmas creations.

The Sugar Bowl - Lillian's sketch

Hi there this is my entry for the sugar bowl challenge where you can win gorjuss girls set 3, wowee that is a fantastic prize.

I made this card using my Duda Daze bunny stamp. I do not have any kraft card and so I used browns and creams. The flowers are basic grey stamps as is the stamp I used to create the border. I kept this very simple.

I had a ball yesterday taking part in the Sugar nellie bloghop on Friday and if you hopped onto my blog and left a comment I really appreciate every single one. Hugs Pascalex

Daring Cardmakers - Missing You

Hello everyone this week at Daring Cardmakers the theme has been set by Lythan and it is called Missing you. Lythan's daughter is away for the weekend so she is going to miss her greatly so she wants us to create a "thinking of you" or "miss you" card.
Apologies as I was involved in the sugar nellie blog hop today I have posted this one a bit late.
My third week as guest designer over at DCM. I chose to make a miss you card. I used my new Vintage birds stamps from the greeting farm and made a twig of him to perch from with my elusive image stamps.
I used Twinkling H20'a to colour and I used promarkers for the twig and leaves. I used rubons to create the now you've flown the nest part of the sentiment and the Miss You part is a stamp.
Well I am hoping the weather clears up as I am off to Clacton for a day trip tomorrow. I have never been so if anyone can tell me what it is like that would be great.

Sugar Nellie Blog hop - Meet Duda Daze Bunny!

Hello and I can't tell you how excited I am to be able to post this on my blog. The new Duda Daze stamps ,from Sugar Nellie ,available from Funkykits are being showcased by some talented bloggers who love Sugar Nellie. These stamps have been designed by Diane Duda a very talented artist from the states.
I got sent this stamp which is called "Bunny". Isn't it wonderful! Remember this is the first time that these stamps have been seen so make sure you visit all the blogs in the blog hop so you do not miss out on the wonderful designs.
You should of arrived here from Vanja's blog. Please visit her if you have not already. For full details of the blog hop pop over to the sugar Sugar Nellie blog where you can find the full list of blogs to visit.
I decided to make a card using techniques that I enjoy and some that I have not tried before. I stamped the stamp onto card stock and coloured with promarkers. I then paperpieced her dress onto the image. I love paperpiecing. I then cut out the rabbit from another stamped image and pieced it on top. I used water colour pencils to create my shadow and the background. I then distressed the edges with a nail file and added acrylic paint to stiffen them, you should use gesso but I did not have any to hand. I then inked the edges of the paper with an ink pad (copper), I did the same with each of the layers. I then stitched them all together. I added some pearls. I made the rosette flower using the same technique as the paper. I also added some flowers using neutral tones.
Please hop over to Elaines blog Quixotic cards to see another wonderful creation using Duda Daze stamps. Enjoy your blog hop!!!!

I used Oakly for this challenge and my cloud stamp from the whiff of joy accessories collection. I used a wall stamp from high hopes. I coloured the image with promarkers. I paperpieced his trousers, the teashirt with the argyle part and the trainers.
I layered up my background and I added some buttons and my sentiment.

I used Mermaid Anya for my card. As you know I have a passion for scenes so I made a scene.
I masked off a square and used my ink pads, bubble wrap and scrunched paper to create water. I stamped my island ( messy rabbit stamps Joanna sheen) I then coloured with promarkers. I also coloured in Mermaid Anya with these. I used stickles to stick on my pebbles (rocks) I then added some pearls and my sentiment which I think is perfect for the scene.

Hi I have received some awards from my crafty friends!

Hello I have been busy today sorting out my stamps. This is a great way to get your mojo going as you see stuff that you haven't seen in ages and it gives you a boost. Well it does me anyway. Got hundreds of projects floating in my tiny brain. I am having to note them down which I don't normally do.
I have received these awards from my lovely crafty friends Helen and Joey . Thanks girls sending the wishes right back to you. Go and see there blogs they will blow you away, not literally of course. I am really useless at passing them on so if you haven't got it please take it especially if you are one of the kind people who leave such lovely comments on my cards.

I also got this one from Joey as did all my Winter Wonderland teamates. I once again cannot pick out any one in particular to pass it onto. I am so rubbish at choosing. I always say to Jimmy you choose I can't decide. In my eyes all bloggers deserve these awards as you all induce inspiration when I come to see you.

Stamptacular Sunday Card Challenge - One for the boys!

Hello again gosh I have been busy today not posted this many in one day in a long time. We went to the British Museum today having watched "A Night at the Museum 2" yesterday. The kids loved it!!! My son Harry said I want to go to the museum at night mummy. We even found Dum Dum (think that is what he is called). No Dexter though. There is a pizza express very close by so we popped in for a quick meal too.
I saw that the stamptacular Sunday Card challenge was to make a card for the boys a man or boy close to your heart. I made this it will come in handy for an occasion for one of my boys I am sure of it.
Okay a bit of fun was had here I cut out the head from skater Ian, attatched the body of Rock Star Anya and the legs of hope or grace not to sure who is who yet. They are all stamps from The Greeting farm. I am having a bit of an addiction at the moment so bear with me. My WOJ summer kit should be here next week so I will bombard you with those shortly. I coloured in using promarkers and I used a fairly easy Layout. Papers are Basic grey.

Colour Create - Rainbow and create a scene

The challenge at Colour Create this week is to make a card using as many colours from the rainbow as possible. Well you know me the brighter the better. There is some candy on offer to celebrate the change of day for the challenge.
I made this card using my new hope and grace stamps from the greeting farm. I love them they are so cute. I used the horse from the Animal set too. I used the flower stamp from the Hope and Grace set and the wall is by High hopes stamps. I layered it up with some papers by Dovecraft and I added some ribbon and sentiment ( hope and grace set) it is all coloured with promarkers.

My favourite carol is "We Three Kings" so I chose to use this one. I made some homemade stamps, stars, arrows and crowns, using foam and card. I have made this card for the new challenge Stampin for the weekend . The theme is Purple and Yellow. I made this card using Ian from the greeting farm and I used recess papers by basic grey and cardstock and mirror card and ribbon from my stash.

The Sugar bowl - Lia's sketch and Blue and green

Just got back from seeing the film " A night at the museum 2" it was action packed and really good. So far fetched it made it even better. We all went and the baby slept. My 4 year old kept going I want to go home but we made it through the film in the end.
I made this for The sugar bowl challenge . A beautiful sketch by Lia and the challenge to include blue and green. I used pastel blue, apple and Lime promarkers to colour Annies ( leanne Ellis stamp available at funkykits sugar nellie collection) outfit in. Her face is coloured with blush, ivory, blossom and pastel pink promarkers and her hair is cinnamon and henna.
The papers are by Dovecraft. I tried to keep the bird theme throughout the card. folder and on the backing paper. I used my cuttlebug I haven't used the stamp for a while and it was fun to do this card.
Just seen on the sugar nellie blog that the gorjuss girl collection three has been decided upon so watch out for more news on that, sneaky peaks at the end of the month, how exciting!

Passion for Promarkers - Apple and Pastel Pink

A very good morning everyone, the weather is again superb here in London. I will venture out for a little while after posting this. I have made this card for the Passion for Promarkers challenge. The colours this week are APPLE GREEN and PASTEL PINK. A perfect combination.
I used my Gorjuss girl and I used cosmo cricket papers to compliment her. I used blush and vanilla and Pastel pink for her face. For her hair I used cinnamon, and henna. For her outfit I used pastel pink and blossom and Apple Green and Lime. For the flowers I used pastel pink and apple green to match them to the image and papers.
