Fresh Farm Friday - Sweet

This is for the Fresh Farm Friday challenge which is all about your favourite sweets. I love the hard boiled sweets strawberries and creams and used to buy them by the ounce in my local sweet shop. I used this as my inspiration for this christmas card. Can you spot my new purchase? Oh boy is this beauty gonna get worn out. This is my first attempt at using the new Martha stewart around the page punch so be gentle with me. I got the image and sentiment from the TGF stamp set xmas sweeties and this is the first time I have used Ian from the set.

Dotties World - Boy oh Boy

At Dotties World this week the challenge is Boy oh Boy. I purchased the new digital collection and just had to make a card. I think this image is indicative of all boys aged 2 plus. My son who is six still spends many an hour in this position with a train set.

I wanted to make another christmas card so have used the image this way.

Sentiment - Darcies stamps
Papers - MME

Anyone for Anya GDT - Sketch #4

Ahh my last week guest designing for the Anyone for Anya challenge. I had so much fun thanks for having me ladies. This week Dawny has given us a great sketch to work with so hop over to the blog to have a look. There is a great prize to.

I am sitting here watching torrential rain from our balcony window. We have seen two rainbows already this morning and one on Friday that curiously ended in Canary wharf. There must be a big pot of gold there.

To find out what I used to make my card please look under the photograph.

Winter Wonderland - Stamp a candle or decorate a candle holder

Hello 4 weeks until christmas EEKS not prepared in the slightest. It will be a cheap and cheerful one this year due to our circumstances. All handmade gifts. So I got a bit of practise in with these candle holders for my DT piece over at Winter Wonderland .

This week we want you to stamp a candle or decorate a candle holder. I brought these over the summer to make into gifts for the teachers in July. Anyway things got beyond my control and I did not have the time to do them. So I dug them out for this DT piece.

I must say I struggled a little with this one. I used alcohol inks to create a coloured effect on the glass. I then relised this is highly flammable so may not of been the best medium to use. I then created the beaded wire which I found just did not want to sit on the glass at all. I stamped some christmassy images by Papermania and them with silcone glue. To boot my photography is not up to scratch.

Simon Says Stamp

The day has just got worse my OH has just found out that his firm lost it's contract so will no longer require it's employees. Hopefully he will get an interview with the one that won the contract. I am so praying that this happens.

I made this card the other day and did not have time to post it. It is for the great theme at Simon says stamp which is Winter Love. I thought this was such a cutie image to use.

I am so not bothered about the X Factor tonight no Jedward so it seems I will not have my guilty pleasure tonight LOL x

Just Magnolia and DCM challenge

Good afternoon, well I am so shattered I cannot remember the last good night of sleep I got. Little one was so so restless again last night. To add to his chest infection he was throwing huge tantrums he has just reached that age.

I have had to make some cards to keep my sanity. I made this one for the Just Magnolia and DCM challenge. I used the sketch from Just Magnolia and the theme of white with a hint of colour to your image which was Jozza's dare at DCM.

I used the snowman again as he is so adorable. Not much else to say today. I had another conversation with the chap at stage 3 complaints at our local council and he asked me again how much I wanted in compensation. I don't know what I am entitled too so I just said £2000 to cover the cost of furniture and distress but having photocopied my receipts that would just about cover the furniture and no stress. I have a wad of medical notes and receipts to sent to him on Monday.

I am going to have a little dust and sweep and then crack on with the kids school cards again. I am nearly there 48/90 made. I may try and do some for my christmas pile too lolx

Have a lovely weekend and thanks for stopping by. Sorry I am a slack blog hopper at the moment as I have so much on x

Whiff of Joy challenge - Christmas card

Hi I am at the end of my tether a bit today as my baby boy is not well and really angry about it. I think he needs a good sleep but he refuses to give in. He is spitting the antibiotics so they are not really having the impact they should. Hopefully after today he will start to feel a bit better.

I made this last night for the Whiff of Joy challenge which is to make a christmas card using a whiff of Joy image. I kept the layout very simple and I think the image pops nicely off the MME paper. I have listed my materials under the photo.

Materials:

Stamps - Whiff of joy
Medium - Promarkers
Papers - MME
Ribbon - Tesco's last christmas

Fresh Farm Friday - No Design Papers!

Hi again I have had a tiring day I took my baby boy to the doctors and he is on antibiotics. He is not too happy flinching with pain and screaming every now and again. This evening he is a bit more settled so I hope that by tomorrow I will see a vast improvement.

I have had a busy afternoon making teachers pressies and a couple of cards. Here is one of them for the Fresh Farm Friday challenge over at The Greeting Farm blog .
They want us to use no design papers. I glimmermisted a piece of paper with two colours and stamped a swirl onto it. I added some flowers from the Me time Anya set and I added this beautiful Fairy digi image. I used some faux paper piecing and added a charm and some ribbon.

The Sugar Bowl

Hi there a really quick post. My life is not giving me much of a chance to blog and create at the moment. I seem to be endlessly busy. My baby boy is poorly so I am off to the docters this morning. I am hoping it is not a hospital trip as his breathing was quite severe yesterday evening.

Onto brighter things now. The card is for The Sugar Bowl challenge which has the fab new stamps from sugar nellie as the prize. It is a fabby sketch by Marlene and they want us to use zig zags somewhere in the project.

Materials:
Stamps - Sugar Nellie, sentiment papermania

Just Magnolia - Mina's sketch

I am having one of those days where you just cannot get started or finished. I went to a group I belong to last night knitty hope it is a group of girls from church that I meet up with to do knitting. Last night I took my card making stuff and made 3 of my xmas cards for the kids. I came home and wanted to stay up so missed out on sleep. My camera broke this morning too. I went to see if I could get a new one and forgot my cash card. A comedy of errors I think!!!

I made this one for Just Magnolia a fab sketch from Mina. I used my frostie with snowflake stamp from The glitter pot. I used some Doodlebug Paper Plus Value Pack - Winter Kit papers also from the there. I had to make an easel card as I am totally addicted to them. I found a really good way to make one from any size card or tailor made card size. I will do a tutorial once my new camera is purchased so please keep your eyes peeled.

Winter Wonderland DT - Saint Nicholas

Hi and a very Good morning to you all. The sun has reappeared in London today so the kids are at the farm with Daddy and I am frantically tidying and prepping dinner so we can eat before the birthday party one of the kids is invited too. I am also on the computer but hey I am a woman and I can multitask.

What a cracking X factor last night. One of my all time faves Queen were the featured artists. My Dad used to drink with them in a pub in Rusper The Royal Oak. A pub Ozzy Osbourne visited and was Oliver Reeds local. I used to drink with Brain May's goddaughter. Jedward all the way for me and if they are not allowed to win it I love Joe too.

Okay I have made this card for my DT over at Winter Wonderland . I am loving using different shapes of card at the moment. I have got a bit bored of square. I used my Paperartsy santa stamp I got last year. I stamped and clear embossed the image and then I rubbed cranberry inkibilities over the top. I am going to list my ingredients from now on as it seems easier than writing them in sentances.

Sketch Saturday and some more scraplings just for fun!

Hi there the wind and rain are raging here in the south and I am catching up on the dreaded christmas card making. A really productive day as it goes. I have found a new addiction scraplings. Anyhow I have made a card for sketch saturday and two scraplings. The digi images are all by Marina Neira and can be brought from The Greeting Farm .
I used Cosmo Cricket papers for all of the cards. I coloured in with copics and promarkers.
Well off to finish the housework and make some more cards. Thanks so much for taking the time to visit x

Basic Grey challenge meets DCM challenge

The challenge over at Basic Grey is to use glitz and bling so I have encoporated that into my three scraplings I have made for the DCM challenge which is:

Scraplings are little narrow cards made from scrap cardstock. You know how when you make a card from a a piece of A4 or Letter sized cardstock you're left with an off-cut? Well that's the basis of a Scrapling. When folded in half, the Scrapling's card front will measure roughly 2 1/2" x 4 1/4" , though this depends of course on the size of card you were making in the first place!

Great challenge Paula I had such fun it was quick too. I used basic grey marrakesh papers. I used papermania stamps for all the stamped images and Anita's stickers for sentiments which are not stamps. I stamped all the images onto silver card and embossed with snowflake glitter embossing powder to give the sparkle. I cut out and used silcone glue to adhere to the matting and layering.

I added ribbon and bling to the cards and that is pretty much it. If you are wanting to batch make cards this is the perfect soloution these took about 40 minutes total.

Fresh Farm Friday - Wild Week Two

Hi there another fab sketch for FFF from Cindy Haffner. I loved working with this one. I used my Timmy in stocking digi image for this one. Once again I resized the image and printed the image five times so that I could 3d the image. He is coloured with copics, promarkers and sakura stardust pen. I used K & co papers and added a ribbon and charm. I doodled around the image for a bit of extra detail.
Check out the blog for the sketch it is so lovely!

Whiff of Joy - Brown, Orange and Ivory

Hi I am back again and after a quick forty winks (literally) I have managed to photo the card I made this afternoon. I used the colour theme from the whiff of joy challenge which is Brown, orange and Ivory. I used this joyous stamp from the whiff of joy winter kit, the sentiment is also from this kit. I coloured her in sepia tones. I added some white gel pen too. I used papers from K&co and I added a flower with a snowflake centre.
I am adoring these new stamps if you didn't manage to get the kit check out the singles as they are so lovely to work with.

Passion for promarkers

Hello I have made this card for the passion for promarkers challenge which is a lovely sketch by Ida and your choice of promarkers. I used a blue, silver and white colour theme and added a touch of black in the ribbon and sentiment. I brought this image from sugar nellie and had yet to ink it up so I used it for this card. I used a nestie to make a frame and I used dovecraft papers.

I am nursing a sick child today he has a blocked nose so no sleep and this is making him incredibly irritable. My youngest daughter was snuffly today too. I am getting watery eyes and a tickly throat so I think it's me next. My partner has wax that is giving him bad earache so all round an unhealthy household.

My eldest daughter has gone to the local war memorial today and she wrote a prayer and a message of support for soldiers today. I was almost in tears reading it. What a wonderful heart she has.

Well I am waiting for some bits to dry on another challenge card so I will maybe post later if the light does not get the better of me.

Guest Designer at Sketch and Stash

I was highly delighted to be asked to join the wonderful girls at Sketch and Stash for their next two challenges. I love the sketches that they offer every fortnight. I have made the card below following this weeks sketch.
I used my neglected stash which is the Guardian Angel Gorjuss girl by sugar nellie. The papermania boutique papers and gemstone coredination card are my new stash. The brads, ribbon and the snowflake are from my neglected stash too.
I coloured in using promarkers and I paperpieced the dress. I used a sentiment from my new Darcies stamps from sugar nellie.
If you get a chance hop over and check out the other DT's and the sketch it is wonderful. You never know you may get picked to be their next GDT and there is a chance to win some fab goodies from the creative cottage x

Winter Wonderland

Hello and a good morning to you all. Hope everyone had a good Saturday night and have a wonderful Sunday planned. I am having my mum over for the day and she is staying over so we can spend some time together tomorrow too.

This card is my DT card for Winter Wonderland . This week we have a choice you can make a card using the theme of Pantomime or you can use Anne's awesome sketch. Or if you like you can combine the two.

I used my new Whiff of joy stamp and I think she is quite princess like. I used Anne's sketch and created a window and seat for her to sit on so she could gaze for her prince out of it. I added a sentiment and some snowflakes and some Holly in the corner to compliment her holly on her hat. I used gemstone card in colours that matched my colouring. She is my Snow Queen!

This week we are sponsered by The Cutting Cafe so hop over to our blog and check out the sketch and the other DT's cards for inspiration you will not be disappointed x

Sketch Saturday

Well not long now and I can sit back, relax and watch the twins my dose of pleasure every Saturday. I heard they may be doing Ghostbusters tonight. Lets hope they include the marshmallow man in the set!!!!

Talking of sets Clint Eastward has been recording his new movie 500 yards or so from our flat. Matt Damon is starring in the movie and was there too. How cool is that. It was 1989 last time Clint was recording a movie in the UK. He is directing this one.

Well I decided Debbies sketch,at sketch saturday, would look great on a tall card. I have used my new stamp from the Whiff of Joy winter kit and he is just so adorable as are all Elizabeth Bell images. I kept a very neutral colour combination. I added some drama with the black and white. The papers are dovecraft.

The Greeting Farm GDT call and Fresh Farm Friday challenge

I have entered the Competition for the Guest DT spot at The Greeting Farm. The challenge is to make a card using images by Marina Neira as the design work will be with her images. If you have not tried using these images yet they are amazing to work with. I have several of the digi images.

The Greeting Farm is having a Guest Designer Search to work specifically with the WONDERFUL Animal images by Marina Neira!

We are looking for someone to work with these adorable critters for our next release (beginning approx a few days before 12/1/09 through 12/31/09. Are you interested?

Hop on over to the blog for full details of how to enter the challenge.

I have coloured the image with promarkers and Sakura stardust pens. I have used the papermania boutique papers (OMG I love these) I used my new tonic punch system for the borders. I used some ribbon and a charm for embellishments and added some gems too. I used four digi images so I could decoupage the image and finally added some liquid applique as snow.

The Sugar Bowl - Judy's sketch and Thankfullness!

Hi everyone I hope everyone is enjoying a lovely sunny day like we are here in London. Lets hope it stays like this for the weekend fireworks. We went to watch our local display on Thursday and I must say it was fab and the weather was so mild.
Well not long now until christmas and I have just off loaded some cards to sell for charity so I am furiously making more cards for my own personal use. So here is another christmas card.
I made it using Judy's sketch at the sugar bowl challenge blog. The theme is thankfullness so I made a thank you/ christmas card for one of the teachers at school. I used this beautiful country cousins stamp by sugar nellie. I love her. I coloured her with Promarkers and sakura stardust pens. The paper are HOTP and I added some sentiments and a brad.
Well off to make some more christmas cards hurrah and to unpack some shopping boo.

Whiff of Joy challenge - got my new goodies!

So so happy my new Whiff of joy christmas stamp kit arrived today and it is so gorgeous. I had to enter this weeks Whiff of joy challenge (apologies ladies I have not joined you for a while). I used this little cutie and sat her on the log masking out the flower. I coloured her with promarkers and added doodles. I used HOTP papers and the sentiment comes with the kit. I punched out some snowflakes with my new woodware punch and added stickles in the middle. The theme for this week is Red cream and one other colour (in my case brown). I hope you like it. I am very pleased with the outcome.

Daring Cardmakers - Get Punchy!

Hi again second post of the day already!!! I made the two cards I am posting yesterday so catching up really. Kids are back at school :( and baby boy is asleep ( he is so grumpy at the moment. I made this card for the Daring Cardmakers challenge which is :

I love punches and use them on almost every card I make. This week I want you to join with me and make a card, any type, any theme but it needs to use your latest craft punch purchase. If you haven't bought any punches for a while or don't own any at all your latest craft purchase will be quite acceptable.

I punched some squares with a punch I acquired from my friend. I stamped onto them with papermania stamp duo's I then layered onto silver mirror card and some white card. The papers are papermania boutique (love these they were on offer at The glitter pot) I then added a punched border (Martha Stewart doily lace) and some snowflakes (woodware) which is my latest punch purchase.

I added doodles and a sentiment.

Anyone for Anya !

Hello another card for christmas. I am entering this one into the Anyone for Anya contest. They want us to use the colours that represent our nationality. I am half French and half British so red white and Blue for me.

I made a blue card blank and coloured in Miss Anya Snow using promarkers. I added liquid applique for the fluffy bits. I then cuttlebugged the christmas tree embossing folder onto whitewash cordinations card and buffed with a nail file. I used dovecraft papers for the backing and sentiment and added a charm and a ribbon.

Not used to using this colour combo so not sure if it works or not.

Just Magnolia - Monochrome

The challenge at Just Magnolia is to make a card using monochrome. I chose traditional black(and tones of) and white.
I used the gorgeous elephant and made a sentiment on the computer. I love having my printer again. I used granola papers by Basic Grey, the ribbon is from my jogging bottoms as it came out and I couldn't get it back in!!!
I have made a shephards pie so just need to put the peas on and I am off for our lunch. The rain has stopped yippee!!!

Winter Wonderland DT - Jingle Bells

Can you hear the peace and quiet well I can. I have sent three little ones off to the childhood Museum in Bethanel Green with daddy as my ears and patience have come to the end of there tether. I am cooking a shephards pie and watching the rain pouring down outside. My eldest daughter is colouring an image for a contest on The Greeting Farm blog.
The wind is howling outside it is quite ferocious. Right moan over now onto cardmaking....

This week at Winter Wonderland the challenge is to make a card or project using the theme Jingle Bells. I do not have any images with bells on and I lost a wee charm I brought a while back, so I resorted to getting an image off a CD rom. I decoupaged the Bells and added some liquid applique for snow. I then matted and layered the image and added a tarten bow and a sentiment.
I like traditional christmas cards as much as I love unusual ones so it made a change to be more traditional in my approach. I enjoy technique too so I enjoyed not just stamping and colouring for a change.
Check out the other DT members cards and projects at their individual blogs and leave them a comment to let them know you have visited I am sure they will be delighted.

I am off to card make in a corner somewhere until the rain stops LOLx
