Inspired to get out a really old CD rom...

Good Morning hope you are all enjoying this fab weather. We went to Joey's housewarming barbeque on Saturday. It was lovely to catch up and she has a lovely house and Martin is a fantastic barbeque chef.  Hoping to get over to see them lots in the summer.

I  cannot go out in it too much as I live in London and my chest is tight so have to be careful with the smog. I am sitting by the balcony door writing this on the computer though.

I was watching Jayne Nesterenko on Create and Craft over the weekend and I loved her new release from Crafters Companion the lovely Summer Adorables collection. I dug out my Cute Companions CD rom Summer Stories to make these scrappages I had so much fun and didn't need anything but photo glue, double sided tape, foam pads and some cardstock to make them. I used the Outdoor stories CD rom to make my pages.

I used photos from our week away in Butlins in Bogner 2009. I hope you like them. I am entering a few challenges today Crafts and me they are looking for stitching on our projects. Crafters Companion Monthly Challenge is Here Comes Summer.

The Floral embellishment is also from the papercraft kit that came with the CD rom. I added a brad to it and a ribbon. I coloured the cute bears with promarkers and copics and I stamped a sentiment.

Thank You xxx

Hi there I am just a wee bit late posting my Delicious Doodles DT card but you have until Thursday to join us in the  Challenge. Great news too our boss Teri is now selling stamps at Sweet Pea Stamps check out her first plate over there it is magical xxx

I just want to say a huge thank you for all the messages regarding Jimmy and his operation. It is so lovely to have such wonderful support in times like this xxx He is doing really well. He was in surgery for a good 3 hours and recovery for a good 3 hours too xxx He went to a ward that was not the ENT ward but one that deals with renal and urology. So the next day the ENT doctor went home without visiting him. Sunday they did visit him and fortunately he was discharged xxx He is doing well. In the light of some two really tragic pieces of news I have received since Friday I feel truely blessed to have him home xxx

Okay you want to hear about my card right. I made this after watching Debbie Moore on Create and Craft. I knew this image was perfect for this type of card. So I printed out the image as large as I could onto a sheet of A4 card. I did a bit of technical stuff and paperpieced onto the image too. I then coloured with promarkers and copics. I added some stickles to the image too. I then made the card using Debbie Moores hints that she gives on Create and Craft TV.

Operation Day x

Hi Everyone I am scheduling this post as we had to be at the hospital for 7.00am xxx I have left the kids with a friend at 6.30am. I will hopefully be able to let you all know how it went this evening if not then tomorrow xxx

Okay this is my DT card for our great Sweet Pea Stampers Challenge blog! I love this weeks theme of Swirls of Summer because it gives us so much opportunity to get creative. Okay the weather is more like April Showers at the moment but hey the crops and plants need it xxx

For this card I used my new Karen Middleton " Light Yellow" stamp from  Sweet Pea Stamps.  These are just so cute and  such fun to colour. I used AquaMarkers to colour and kept them quite pigmented rather than watered down. I added some stickles to the wings and flowers for a bit of sparkle. The DP's are from two MME kits and the flowers and swirls are cut from my Cricut.

This week we are sponsered by The Crafty Purple Frog  where you can find the most magical Digital Decoupage.

We are are really excited this week to be introducing our newest DT members. Welcome girls hope you have lots of fun with us here xxx

Another Scrapbook page!

Hi there in a bit of a GRrrrr mood today. Time of the month and a few other things.... IYKWIM xxx I have made this today for my big Princess to cheer her up it is another scrapbook page and I am entering it into the Simon Says Stamp Challenge. They have a bingo on this week I choose Shape,Ribbon,  and Sentiment as my Bingo!

She had a tough day at school yesterday as she was given two male parts and only 5 lines in the Year 6 school play  and the other children were teasing her. She is the most girlie girl I hang around with and certainly shouldn't be playing one man let alone two xxx Her best school friend got the lead female role (as she does in every production they do).... so she is feeling a bit ropey today xxx

I took this picture about two years ago when we went for a Pizza after going to the British Museum and thought it was lovely for this page. The image and the sentiment and the paper ribbon are from Debbie Moore Crafts "Secret Garden" CD rom. The flower, ribbon and cardstock are from my stash xxx

Crafts and Me - Bling it up!

Hi there well two days to go until Jim's Operation I am getting nervous for him now xxx I have been busying myself with crafting and I must say mainly scrapbooking. I have made this page in the last two days and I must say it fits the theme over at Crafts and Me perfectly. They want us to "Bling it up".

I have used the wonderful My Craft Studio graphics programme to make this scrapbook page. The CD rom that I used is called Floral Fantasy.

I created a layout using lots of the fantastic features. I chose this picture of Bradie my youngest daughter and her best friend Elsie. I used the new scissors feature to create the effect of the image being colour and the background black and white. I also  used the part that I cut out to fade into the background to make it unique. I made the frame by  cutting and pasting and turning a floral corner three times. I blinged up the frame with some gems and some stickles I added to the flowers that I added around the frame.

I also made a tag as my journalling.

Bradie is sleeping over at Elsies on Thursday the night before Jim's op so she is going to give her this memory photo of a day out we had in a lovely park in Summer 2010.

Crafts and Me - Use a stamp

Hiya I have been lost for a little while as to how to develop my crafting to maintain my mojo so I made a decision last week to start crafting for me as and when and how I want to get the most fullfillment from it.

I love watching Create and Craft on TV and gain a lot of inspiration from this programme. So inspired by Stephanies Weightmans fab One stroke painting and Sheena Douglas's idea of paint fusion I bit the bullet and today I created an altered notebook using acrylics, gesso and some really old stamps and a few tricks I learnt from the girls xxx

I firstly got the notebook which I have had in my stash for ages and I used a flesh coloured acrylic to coat it. I then mixed my gesso with some  paint and washed over the flesh colour. I then dried with my heat gun.

I don't own any of the paint fusion stamps but I love the idea of it so having watched the demo's on the telly I created this little layout with my leaf stamps and my THUMB and TOP OF THE PENCIL RUBBER (blackberries). I am loving this one stroke folkart style of painting and must admit it is very addictive.

I used a promarker to create a bit more definition. The Sentiment is stamped in Distress ink which I added to the edges of the notebook too. My First attempt but I am quite chuffed with it x

This is a gift for a teacher who came with me to a paediatric assessment just to thank her for her help xxx

I am entering the Crafts and Me Challenge to stamp something x

CES challenge - Saturday Night at the Movies!

Hi there everyone I hope you are all enjoying your weekend. Weathers a bit tempramental but never mind love the excuse to stay in and play xxx

I have made a little Scrapbook page again. They are extremely addictive and I think this is going to be my new passion.

I have used this picture of my youngest Daughter. It is one of my all time favourites of her I have cut away the background in my Serif Craft artist programme. I have to say that I have altered this before and did a close up and made it black and white. It is in my living room on the sideboard.

I then thought how could I scrap it. In the real life photo she is in a Swanley Park under a willow tree so it is quite enchanting. She is always asking me "Who is that for?" when I am playing with fairy images. So I decided to add some images and DP from My Craft Studio " Another Walk In Wonderland". I decoupaged up these elements. I made some paper flowers using the DP and sprayed with Crafter's Companion glitter. I also added some stickles.

I am entering the challenge over at CES challenge blog which is " Saturday Night at the movies"!

The movie that inspired this scrapbook page is "Fairy Tale a True Story" (1997). It is all about the Cottingley Fairies remember the ones that the girls photographed in their garden in 1917.

My first real attempt at a Scrapbook page!

Hello again if you saw my earlier post you will see that I said I would be back with a Scrapbook page yes a scrapbook page. I have always wanted to get into scrapping and have decided to get well and truely hooked as I have oodles of photos on disks and to digitally update so what better excuse then to combine my two real passions Crafting and my precious little family xxx

So the Totally Papercraft girls  want us to use Summer on our creations so I have chosen to do this scrapbook page featuring the Summer of 2009 when our family went to Butlins for a week. Yes my daughter is playing on Bogner Regis Beach and it was 31 degrees every day we really had fantastic weather xxx

I have used this beautiful Decoupage Full Moon Magic from  The Crafty Purple Frog.
I created the background using Craftartist by Serif and also images from My Craft Studio Papercraft Library 7 Finest Filagree. I created depth by layering the background. So this really is a hybrid Scrapbook page.  Let me know what you think especially if Scrapping is your thing. I would love some useful critique xxx

Simon says challenge and Crafters Companion challenge

Hello what a rainy day here in London. My children have an inset day so I was quite sad when I saw the rain. Oh well gave me a chance to create this card for the Simon Says Stamp "Get Fruity" Challenge  I also am entering the monthly Crafters Companion Challenge   which is Here comes Summer xxx

My Humphrey stamps arrived this week and I must coo over them they are so so adorable as is my CD rom xxx You can get yours at Crafters Companion. I used this one as it is what I love to do with friends and family in the summer eat ice cream. Reminds me of our family holidays in the South of France where we used to eat Chocolate Legois which look a lot like this ice cream. I coloured with promarkers and copics and I used DP's from the Humphreys corner CD rom. I made paper flowers from one of the DP's and I made some glace cherries to match the one on the ice cream as a corner embellishment.

I am gonna be back later as I have done a scrapbook page for another challenge. Something I think you will be seeing heaps more of on my blog as I loved doing this one and it suits my current love of hybrid crafting xxx

Delicious Doodles - Fathers Day

Hi there, well not long now until Fathers Day so we would love to see your creations for Fathers Day this week over at the Delicious Doodles Challenge. It is going to be a rather odd Fathers Day for us as we are going to be visiting Jimmy in the hospital as he will have his operation next Friday to remove the rest of the Cholestema in his ear.

This week we've got a fab sponsor Crafts 4 Eternity

I have made my card using Cogs and Chain Frame and Vintage Norton MotorBike .
One of my favourite techniques is using digital images in a different way. So I used my graphics program to create a background making the Cogs and Chain Frame into PNG and using it like a digital stamp over my background I created using my My Craft Studio "Men-y Happy Returns" CD rom.

I then made the Vintage Norton Motorbike into a more sepia looking image and decoupaged it up. I hope you enjoy what I have done. This one will be off in the post to my Dad who used to be a biker xxx

On  Tuesday Barack Obama came to visit a secondary school about 10 minutes walk from where we live it is a school with a bad reputation so hopefully this will do something to improve this. Yesterday we went to see the Neurology Consultant and he was so nice and he is really pleased with Jimmy's progress. So much so he is not requesting to see him again. He is to remain on the Epilepsy meds for at least three years. The good side to this is that he may be able to drive sooner than we were thinking. Now it is a wait for the ENT operation and the outcomes of that.

Scissors, Paper and Glue what a great afternoon xxx

It has been a long time since I indulged in a crafty session so I thought today would be the day. I have made this card for two challenges.

The image is from The Crafty Purple Frog she is called Night Glimmer. I totally adore the colours Ching Chou Kuik has used to paint her. So this has been the inspiration for my favourite colour combinations for the CES Challenge.

I used 2 Websters Pages papers. and 3 different embellishments (ribbon, heart gems and a flower. The challenge at Totally Papercrafts this week is a recipe 1 Image, 2 Papers and 3 embellishments. I added some stickles to the tail of the mermaid and I used some gold mirricard to layer the image. The sentiment is from my stash xxx

Mo's Digital Pencil - Monochromatic and GDT call !!!

Hello everyone hope your all having a relaxing weekend xxx I am crafting!!! I am here to show you my card for the Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge. The challenge is to make a Monochromatic card using a Mo Manning image of your choice.

I wanted to enter the Pink and Girlie Challenge last week but as always real life ran away with me so I decided to use Pink as my colour. I say real life ran away with me. We went to the hospital and Jimmy still has a significant amount of disease in his ear so now they are concentrating on getting the disease erradicated rather than getting the hearing saved. He will need all the disease removed to prevent meningitus or more brain abscesses occuring. He will also need his ear cleaned for life. The more happy real life events were visiting my daughters new secondary school. I am delighted with my choice.

Okay to make my card I used Mo's gorgeous image  you can find a selection of gorgeous digital stamps HERE! which I coloured with promarkers and copics. I then used my cricut sampler cartridge to make the babyvest to which I adhered the gorgeous baby. I then tied a bow and added a saftey pin with two charms on it. The charms are a heart that says Made with love and a nappy pin. I hope you like my card.

The challenge is also looking for Guest Designers on a regular basis to participate for a whole month with the chance to choose 4 free images to make your Guest DT cards with so take  a peek!!!

Happy Bank Holiday!!!

Last day of rest for the children today we have to send them back to school tomorrow. Awww I think we will miss all the noise and our days out as a family lots and lots xxx I have lots to do next week. I have to go to a meeting at my daughters new secondary school, Jimmy has a check up with Ear, Nose and Throat, I have to vote in the referendum, and I have a meeting about my daughters first ever school trip!!! There is lots more to do I am sure!!!

Here is a card I have made today using my wonderful Cricut machine which I must admit was a great purchase I only wish I could affort an cricut create, expression or imagine. Anyhow I have been able to expand my creative abilities heaps with this little beauty. I have recently purchased some Doflex to make my own embossing folders and templates so cannot wait for that to arrive.

I have made this card for two challenges the CES Challenge which has an amazing photo inspiration to follow. The second challenge is the Fantabulous Cricut Monday Challenge who would like to see 3 or more flowers on your card or project.

So how did I make my card. I used some Websters Pages DP's that I brought on their website digitally. I then decided to go for a quilted feel as the photo is of a bedroom. I used my Cricut George and Basic Shapes cartridge to create a layer of cream card with floral cutouts to go ontop of the red Websters pages DP. I then added some gingham ribbon to the border. I adhered to the blue Websters pages DP and faux stitched around the edges. The sentiment is from Hunkydory. I then made the rose flowers (George and Basic shapes) and the leaves (Straight from the nest). Finally I added some stickles (a bit of a favourite on all my cards at the moment). Excuse me for being impatient and not letting the glue dry before I took my picture xxx
