Two Challenges with the gorjuss girls!

Hi everyone sorry but I will be keeping word verification on as it is protection from any nasty viruses! LOL! I have made two cards for two challenges. My baby boy took about 7 steps today across the room and he is really solid on his feet!! Really clever as he only started taking the odd step on Sunday! He is the quickest of all mine to walk.

This is for the sugar bowl challenge check out the link in the sidebar and is made using some of the Gorjuss girls! I have made shrink plastic embellishments for my homemade baubles. The background is glimmer mists and stamps. I loved the theme of christmas as it made me think. I have no sugar nellie christmas stamps so I had to be more imaginative.

I made this card for the Cute card Thursday challenge it is for the theme animal magic. Please check out the link in my sidebar. I used a gorjuss girl I love this one and I added the cat which comes with another gorjuss girl but I thought would look cute on this one.

Arty girls challenge -Anything but a card

The challenge at arty girlz this week is to create anything but a card!!
To satisfy my addiction to colouring in Tilda's I made this calender for my daughter. When we get rehoused she wants a green, pink and black room. Infact she has designed it....chip off the old block.......I got the calendar off a google search. Cut it out and layered onto card. I stuck December to the backing paper and then stapled all the other months on top, so we can pull them off. I coloured in Tilda with promarkers and placed her in the frame. I created the background using papermania papers and some green paper from my stash and stuck Tilda on. I then laminated the background. I stuck the calender on top of the laminated background so next year it can be used again. You never know how long we are gonna wait to be housed!!!!

I then added prima flowers. I used my crop-a-dile to punch holes and place eyelets and used some ribbon to make the calender into a hanging calender.

Arty Girlz challenge #66 - Home Art

HAPPY NEW YEAR !!!!!!! ......The challenge from Arty Girlz Challenge is to create something arty that you can display in your home. Well I have made a holder for the pot pourri. I got the the template from Things to make and do I sprayed some cream card on both sides with two shades of glimmer mist. I then stamped with elusive image flower that I inked with Marvy pens. I then used Utee two times to give it a glossy effect and to create a more solid feel to the card. I tied it together using wool and added beads to the end for extra decoration. TFL Pascalex

Final teacher present

The mojo came back this am! I have had a fabby day and still more of it to come. I gave out the pyramid boxes today and spent 10 minutes with my son's teacher discussing how I created it. She loved the glimmer mist effect. Before I even took the kids to school I made the candle. It took about 15 minutes and it is the second one I have ever done. Coloured in using the colouring pencils and stardust pens. I made a co-ordinating card and box too. I hope she likes it! I used the same colours as on the candle but it shows how much tissue paper sofens colour. I am off out with a friend who contacted me on friends reunited. He is about 18 years older than me. We met at Uni and have not seen each other for over 15 years. I am nervous and excited. We are going for a drink and then for something to eat. We had a great bond back then so I hope that is how we will be now.

Christmas gifts for the teachers

Hi, My daddy came up to see me today. I have not seen him for 6 months or so. He moved to Cornwall ten years ago.... when my mum and him seperated. I see him for a few hours every six months ,so I get emotional with it all. I love him ,but our relationship has somehow disintergrated ,due to the fact we see so little of each other nowadays. They don't get on ,so it means that we can never be together as a family, ever again. I being the sensitive type find this incredibly difficult. Never mind, I got out the glimmer mists and made these triangualer gift boxes for the treelight candleholders I brought for the kids teachers. I just sprayed the card with red and green glimmer mists and then stamped using various paperartsy stamps. I then created some matching tags and added some ribbon to co-ordinate. I am dead happy and I love making these as it takes one piece of A4 card and no gluey mess just a few folds.

Arty Girlz challenge - Use a verse or a quote

I have made this candle using elusive images stamps. The quote is "Let us be grateful to people who make us happy, they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom" I think I may give it to the headteacher who is retiring at christmas.

I found this technique of using tissue paper to create an image on a candle. you have to stamp your desired images onto tissue paper. Colour the image and then place onto candle where you desire it to remain. Put greaseproof paper on top and heat with heatgun until wax melts over top of it. Then add a strip of coloured card and some ribbon. I embossed the card with a sentiment using my cuttlebug. The candle holder was 47p and the candle £1.50 so as you can see a cheap pressie in current climate.

I will now try to perfect the technique making these for family and friends using different stamps, colours, sentiments etc.

Henry the VIII, I am, I am

I have done this ATC for 2 challenges. Inspired by Year 4's history topic The Tudors I created this ATC for both TMTA (handwriting) and Monday Mixed Media (someone famous). My daughter is also learning about mechanisms for Design and technology so I practised making a flap so I can share it with her sometime this week.

Sarah Kay challenge - trio of papers

http://sarahkaychallenges.blogspot.com/2008/09/week-11-trio-of-papers.html
I have used some scrapbook designer papers for this challenge by Sarah Kay, which is to use only 3 papers. I stamped the image on 2 of the papers to create her outfit and then I used the third paper to create her work of art. I cut out images from one of the papers to embellish the card and I chalked and stamped a flower for another one. I think I may send this to my sister-in-law for her birthday.

Aubergine lady for Saturday sketch and This Thursday it's all about

http://sketchsaturday.blogspot.com/

http://thisthursday.wordpress.com/

I am entering this for 2 challenges the saturday sketch and this thursday it's all about stashraiders. I used somepapers I found in my drawer and co=ordinated the stamped image with them. I used acrylic paints to colur in this crafty individuals stamp. I made the embellishments to co-ordinate too. I love this stamp so I am glad I got to use her. Check out her fairy wings they are made with the papers I found.
It has been one of those days today. Knee high in washing, cleaning, clearing away. Jimmy took the kids out, so I could craft in peace and Harry managed to hit him in the face with a golf club, so he had to go to a&e whilst I dealt with Mayhem at home. Nevermind he's all fixed up now, Thank the lord.

Arty Girlz Challenge #51 Inspired by something in the home

I love this mousemat I designed recently and had printed by bonusprint. I made this paper mache bowl and have been waiting for my new acrylic paints to arrive so I can paint it. I have painted it using antique copper. I designed a backing paper using the motif on the mousemat. I then printed the backing paper onto vellum and then attatched it to the painted paper mache bowl. I added a layer of PVA glue to seal the bowl and then a glaze of varnish. I am not sure if I want to add a chain or not so for the moment here it is without the chain. I am also going to add some pot pourri. Great fun and a big mess doing this challenge!

A christmas Star!

http://mixedmediamonday.wordpress.com/2008/09/08/stars
This is a christmas ornament I have made for the Monday Mixed Media challenge. The theme is star. I used some green polymer clay rolled it very thin and cut out a star shape. I then cooked it. Once cooled I applied some acrylic paint red metallic mixed with glitter and yellow metallic. I followed the shape of the star and created a pattern. I then stamped an image of Mary with Jesus onto paper and painted with corresponding colours. I then stamped the work JOY as this is the message of Christmas. I used a crop-a dile to cut a hole and added an eyelet then I added some gold chain and a few yarns. This will be hung on the tree this christmas!

Dotty Sarah!

http://sarahkaychallenges.blogspot.com
http://kaboodledoodles.blogspot.com
I have created this card for two challenges. The first challenge is the Sarah Kay challange. Boy what a beautiful sketch to work with. I also created this for the Kaboodle Doodle challenge blog which has a theme of dotty this week. I created some dotty paper, getting very messy whilst doing so! I love it! I kept to a very basic colour scheme. I think this compliments this card. I stamped this gorgeous Sarah kay stamp and created her outfit by stamping onto a paper I created. I added a flower made from elusive image stamps. and a little sequin. I just had the most fun with this!

Door Hanger!

http://pennybfriendssaturdaychallenge.blogspot.com
I made this door hanger for my eldest daughter Georgie who is 8. I used the penny black stamps and some paper artsy stamps and some alphabets letters from a CD rom. I printed a photo of Georgie and positioned it behind the house. I added a crown as she is my little princess! I also added some ribbons. It is laminated to prevent grubby hands from doing any damage.

Recycled washing tablet box turned into a gift box

All those days of watching Blue Peter were worth their weight in gold. I now want to transform all my empty boxes into something useful. For those of you who saw my ribbon dispenser on the arty girlz challenge this is a gift box i made using the same item. I made a photo tile for my mum ( Monday mixed media challenge nature) and so I needed to make a gift box and here it is made from a washing tablet box. A great way to recycle as I have used the washing tablet box instead of throwing it away and hopefully Mum will think of some way to use the box in her home. I have recycled 2 times.

Arty girlz Challenge #50 and Sarah Kay challenge purple/green

http://artygirlzchallengeblog.blogspot.com/2008/09/arty-girlz-weekly-challenge-50-alter-it.html
http://sarahkaychallenges.blogspot.com/
What a crafty day! I have done 3 challenges. This one combines 2 challenges. The Arty girlz theme is alter something. The Sarah Kay challenge is to use green and purple. I got my new Sarah Kay stamp today from Sassycrafts.
I chose this plastic washing tablet box ( you did say anything). I cut off the lid and covered it in paper i had glimmer misted. I then stamped some Sarah Kay images and coloured them in differently, using sakura stardust pens and a waterbrush. I stamped some flowers from Joanna Sheen and used these and the Sarah Kay images to cover any little blips. I then punched 12 holes using my crop-a-dile and after adding eyelets I thread the ribbon through.
I forgot to say I made a ribbon dispenser.
Whilst I was making this my 8 year old daughter suggested I could use it as a bag. Nice for a gift box, or general storage, as an easter basket, Pot pourri holder. There are lots of ways you can use the covered box.

2 sketches 4 You challenge

I found this challenge and I adore the theme it is "Happy Fall". My favourite season and a chance to use some rich colours and random stamping. I loved making this card and the sketch is just fabulous so versitile to interprete. I hope you enjoy viewing it.

TMTA - Architecture

http://tmta.wordpress.com
I have decided to have a go at Think Monday Think ATC after all the wonderful comments last week on my ATC's. ATC's are just the best fun too. The theme is Architecture and I decided that I would design a basic house using cutters as templates and using acrylics to paint it. I then added some stamps. Doorway to ones soul and hearts by paper artsy. Home should always be somewhere to love no matter how basic. It is also a statement of who and what you as person are. Architecture can reflect your soul and where you are. Quite deep and meaningful for a 2.5 x 3.5. Great challenge blog.
