Touchy Feely at Delicious Doodles Challenge

Afternoon everyone a bit chilly out there today, just in time for the kids Easter break the weather is going to get colder....mmmm!!!

I am showing you my latest creation for the brilliant Delicious Doodles Challenge. This week we are all about texture. We would love to see lots of touchy feely bits on your creations.

I love Teri's Emo images so I used Emo Valentine Fairy for my bookmark that I have made for the challenge. I coloured the image with prismacolour pencils and I created a bookmark using cardstock and Basic Grey papers. I then stuck the image on with foam pads and added some feathers to the skirt of the image.

The bookmark has already been claimed by 12 year old daughter. I think if I was 12 I would love a bookmark like this too.

I hope you like it. Please go grab  my freebies on this page on the post below and over at Gr8 Crafts 4 U great for all your spring cards.

For The Love of Letraset

My very good friend Amy has set up a blog dedicated to promarkers and fleximarkers. It is  a very special blog as it acts as a reference blog so you can see which colours to use when you wish to blend colours to create different effects. The blog is called For the Love of Letraset.

I was very excited to be invited to contribute to the blog and if you love Promarkers and Fleximarkers as much as we do you can hop over and contact Amy and contribute to the blog too.

I have made a card for the Secret Crafters Challenge they want to see shabby chic. I chose to make a male card with a sepia toned image called Zooming Along from Lily of the Valley. I used three promarkers Tan, Blush and Cocoa to colour the image. The papers are from a free Websters pages pad with Simply Papercrafts and cards magazine. I then distressed this with acrylic paint and added some promarker to create a really distressed look. I used some craft card with a nellie snellen die and I added some raffia and a button. The sentiment is from a Basic grey kit and I added promarker pen to so it blended with my design.

Delicious Doodles - The Wonder of Life

Good Morning time for another challenge over at the fantastic Delicious Doodles challenge. We have a great Spring Theme " The Wonder of Life". This week Teri released this gorgeous image called " A Mothers Love" so I decided to make this shabby chic baby card. I used some papers I designed a while ago that came from my scrap box. I coloured the image with promarkers. I added some spellbinder dies and a bit of lace and some rosebuds. I distressed with some tattered rose distress ink and I put some PVA glue under this and then distressed over it.

I hope that you can join in the fun.

Hello everyone I have been playing today for Mothers Day with a Digital craft kit from my shop Gr8 Crafts 4 U. I used the gorgeous digital kit called Birds of a Feather to create 3 unique gifts for my Mum. I love this kit. The colours are so relaxing and tranquil. I love the sentiments too they really sum up what a Mother is.

I cropped the images on my graphics program. I then enlarged them to fit a sheet of A4 paper. I printed them out and transfered them onto an apron, shopping bag and drawstring bag. As you can see they match the card I posted in my last post. I love the uniqueness of presents like these they make it so much more personal.

I hope you have all been enjoying the sunshine. I have been working grrr!!! I stepped out for a little while though. I have just received some equipment I chose with my grant money today so I am looking forward to the weekend and unpacking it all.
Enjoy the rest of this lovely day xxx  Here are some pictures for you!

A couple of Mothers Day cards and new release

Hello everyone I hope you are all well. I have been busy designing lots of craft kits so keep looking in to see what I have come up with. I want to show you some samples I have made using the Birds of Feather Digital craft kit and I am introducing you to a new kit called Cupcakes Bright. If you visit Gr8 Crafts 4 U you can buy both kits.

So firstly  here are two cards that I made using the Birds of a Feather kit they are loosely themed around Mother's Day but could be used on any occasion for a variety of people. These cards are both made using the card design sheets that are available in the digital kit and simply mean that you print off one sheet of paper and get a beautiful card.

This next card is from the newly released digital craft kit called "Cupcake Brights" which is available to buy HERE.
This kit is refreshingly bright for the spring and great for all occassions. I used the decoupage sheet that comes with this kit and one of the lovely design papers to co-ordinate. I have not used all the layers on the decoupage sheet and I had enough left over to make at least two more cards.

Please pop over to the Digital Craft Kit page to find out all the details about the kits and to purchase them. They are great value for money as once you have brought them you can print them again and again. Also I would love to know what you think of them so leave me a comment xx

Winter Wonderland...

Hello hope everyone is well I have been busy looking after my poorly Max this week with  his chest being full of horrible cold. There are a lot of nasty germs around this January. I also celebrated yesterday another year of getting closer to the big 40 eek that will be next year... !!!

This is my DT card for the brilliant Delicious Doodles Challenge Teri has some amazing images out for release this week so please check out the shop HERE!!

Our theme for the challenge this week is to be inspired by a WInter Wonderland. I chose a frosty morning and the very subtle hues of blue remind me of the ice and the subdued sympathy card reminded me of how we feel on a frosty morning. I created a scene using my My Craft Studio and added some stickles as a frosty glaze.

I coloured the stunning Fallen available in the shop  I used copics and promarkers and added some feathers to embellish her.

Have a great week I hope to be back sooner rather than later xxx

Delicious Doodles Challenge

Hi everyone and a Happy New Year to you all. I have had a bit of a having a little break from blogland and reviewing my committments as my real life has changed and I needed to get myself focused on all that was happening there. I am back and I am hoping to be posting more regulary  now and sharing some of my projects I have been doing in the past couple of months.
I am kicking off with this 80's revival inspired card for the brilliant Delicious Doodles Challenge. You must check out the teams cards they are totally amazing. We have a great theme for this challenge as it is the first of the New Year we want to see anything New on your cards. Could be an image, stash, technique it is completely up to you.
I had to use the beautiful new emo Image "I'm no Goth" from the shop she is so beautiful and she reminded me of how I was in the eighties so I used the eighties revival to inspire my card. I used lots of flurescent colours and punked her up with some lace and a safety pin charm. I made the sentiment on my graphics programme and added some funky feathers. The design papers are two I  designed last year.  She is coloured with promarkers and flexmarkers.

Hairy Legs anyone!!!

Good Evening everyone!!! Life again this week took lots of twists and turns. I was on my business course on Monday and Friday lots of exciting things happening there xxx I was in hospital midweek with my youngest daughter Bradie as she had a meningitus scare. There have been some cases in our area recently so the GP was on red alert. She had a headache for a day or so so I took her to the docs on Tuesday and then on Wednesday morning a non blanching rash appeared on her arm I was really scared so straight to the GP who told me that a school had a case recently so I was to go straight to A&E so we spent the night there and she had two lots of intravenous antibiotics and I had a sleepless Wednesday night. Glad to say she is well again now xxx

So Hairy legs I hear you shout why are you on about that on a card making blog!!! Well as you know my boss Teri  over at Delicious Doodles Challenge asked us to set some themes and Ruthie looked at her legs and decided to choose "Hairy Legs" as one I thought it was a great idea. You can choose to interpret it as you wish. It could be Hairy legs on an animal, a man, a women you decide!!!! As always Teri is offering up some great prizes and as long as you follow the rules and the  theme you can enter!!!

I chose animal hairy legs and went with the gorgeous image Christmas Stocking Rudolph. I used him 9 times to make all of Santa's reindeer to keep him company I added a sentiment and drew in some string. I coloured with Promarker  and copics. I kept the layout very simple as I wanted the focus on the design. I hope you like what I have chosen to do  xxx

Goddess

For a while now I have lacked the drive to create so when I came across this fabulous blog The Butterfly Effect I was inspired to create my very own Ancient Goddess! They give us 8 steps to follow to doing this. I hope this represents the theme in the right way.

I decided to create a beautiful Love Goddess. I have yet to give her a name. I was inspired by the Greek Goddess Aphrodite. During my research on Goddesses I found I was hugely drawn to the Earthly Goddesses too so I used Earthly colours in one of my coloured pictures.  I coloured her with prismacolour pencils and added some white gel pen. The other one is very much trying to keep to the Aphrodite and Greek Goddess feel of clean and simple. She is coloured with alcohol pens xx

I drew a pencil drawring and then traced with a black pen. I then scanned into the computer and turned her into a digital image. I added a frame and some hearts. I wanted her to become a more modern take on the Greek Goddess.

Thanks to the challenge for inspiring me to get out my sketch pencils and to create I really enjoyed it xxx

Delicious Doodles _ Remembrance

Hello this week at Delicious Doodles Challenge we have a REMEMBRANCE challenge to interpret as you wish too. I choose to make something with Poppies as this is a real symbol of Rememberance. I LOVE poppies too so it was fun for me. There are prizes to be won and if you use one of Teri's images the chance to get spotlighted !!!!

I made this gift mug into which I will put some teabags and coffee and hot chocolate sachets for the teachers at Christmas.

I used a overlay template from the most recent Encyclopedia of templates from My Craft Studio. I then choose a paper to decorate the whole mug template. I then used Teri's two images to decorate the mug. I used Poppy and Poppies I coloured Poppy with promarkers and copics. I made a matching tag too.
