Digi Doodle Shop's Best Challenge - Anything Goes

Hiya another challenge over at Digi Doodle shop's best challenge. This week the theme is anything goes so that means pretty much any card you have done can be linked to the challenge this week.

We also have a very special prize this week. We are proud to be sponsored by the wonderful Whimsy Stamps and have a $15.00 Gift Certificate for the winner to be used at the Whimsy Stamps Online Shop! Our winner's name will also be put in the drawing with the past April winners for a CUSTOM STAMP to be designed by the Digi Doodle Shop of their very own

There is plenty of inspiration from my fellow DT members over on the challenge blog so please hop over and say hi.

I decided to make a couple of bookmarks using two wonderful images from the Digi Doodle Store.

I also wanted to have a play with techniques and to show you that you are not limited by using digi images.

The images I used are Butterfly blossoms available HERE and Butterfly scrolls available HERE .

On my graphics program My Craft Studio proffessional, I created a frame using the Butterfly scrolls digi image.

I then copy and pasted the butterfly blossoms image and resized and rotated it to create the image on the centre of the bookmark.

I also added text to the image. I then grouped the layers and resized to the size that I wanted my bookmark to be.

I then copy and pasted this and printed.

Bookmark one:

For this bookmark I coloured the image with prismacolour pencils and sansador and then I added distress ink over the top. I then added some ribbon to it.

Bookmark two:

For this bookmark I added alcohol inks to the bookmark and then coloured the image in with Sakura stardust pens. I then outlined with a white gel pen. I used ribbons to finish off the bookmark.

Sweet Pea Stampers - Under The Sea

Hi there this morning it is a little less sunny here in London. I had a fantastic time watching the marathon yesterday. We saw Richard Branson dressed as a butterfly, The caterpillar including Princess Bea and Natalie Imbruglia, Nadia Sawahlia, Steve Ryder and our friend Kevin (He won the biggest loser last year). My friends brother also completed it in under 4 hours and my friend Emma completed it not sure of her time. All very emotional and inspirational.

This morning I am bringing you my DT card for Sweet Pea Stampers. We have a theme of Under the sea
this week. We would love to see you joining in if you have Sweet Pea images. This week the prize is 3 sweet Pea stamps as we are looking at all the entries for this month and picking the card of the month.

For my card I used this fantasitic image ching-chou kuik's Coral Immersion. She reminded me of someone who has just jumped into the water. I coloured her with copics and promarkers and then added some distress ink to the image. I then went around her with white gel pen. I cut some K&co papers to look like the sea I added distress ink to these too.

I made the seahorse from a mould from Crafts and Me using delight air drying clay. I added an eye and coloured it in with promarkers. I added some flowers, brads and punched some leaves.

Tag You're It - With A Flourish

Good Morning I have a busy day ahead we are off to watch the London Marathon which goes along just 5 minutes away from our flat. I have a few people I know running so I will be cheering them along. I hope the rain goes away!

This morning I am bringing you my DT piece for the Tag You're it Challenge. The theme this week is With a flourish
We want to see flourishes on your tags.

I used distress inks to create the background for my tag. I then stamped a flourish onto the tag. The flourish I chose had stars on it so I made an beaded star to embellish the project. I added ribbons and made a hanging beaded charm to hang from the tag.

Wags and Whiskers GDT a sketch!

Hi there I am excited today as I am bringing you my Guest Design Team card for the Wags and Whiskers challenge. The theme for this week is a wonderful sketch by Bree. I decided to keep my interpretation of the sketch very clean and simple.

I have used the fantastic digi image "A good book" from Bunny Zoe's crafts I added a sentiment to the image before printing it out. I love digi images such an instant sense of gratification. The papers are MME. I coloured the image with copics and promarkers. I cut it out with a nestie and used the same nestie as a template to create a frame.

I used some scraps of the papers to make my own flowers. I used my scalloped nestie to cut out five scalloped edged circles. I then secured them with a brad. I scrunched each layer individually to create this effect. I then added some stickles to the edges to add some bling.

I gave my daughter her own craft box yesterday filled with stamps, ink, papers, embellishments and bits so she can now craft at her desire. I am changing around our room as I have decided that the craft space needs to be where my wardrobe was to create it's own space and so my bed space can be for me to relax in. I am going to buy a screen to screen off the craft space. So that is this mornings job for OH before he goes to work.

Digi Doodle Shop's Best Challenge - Colour Combo

Good Morning another fantastic day here in London and I have seen at least 7 planes in the sky this morning so looks like business as usual if you are travelling.

Today I am bringing you my DT piece for Digi Doodle Shop's Best challenge .

REMEMBER we do not mind if you do not use a Digi Doodle shop's stamp or combine challenges but if you do you will get an extra chance to win. You can see the fab range of stamps available HERE.

The challenge this week is a colour combo. We would like you to use Buttercup Yellow, Duck egg Blue and Grass Green along with a neutral shade. The theme for April is Springtime and I think any creation with these colours is perfect for Spring.

I used this new set of stamps by Judy's Mum the vintage phone set. I was thinking of the new trend to have an old style phone in your house but make it look more funky. I used all three phones from the set.

To create my tag I randomly placed them on the page having resized and copy and pasted them. I added a Text ,thanks Blondie.

I coloured in with prismacolour pencils and added a distress ink over the top. I added some glossy accents to the phones to give them the look of a real phone. I then made one larger image of one of the phones applied glossy accents and 3d the image on top of my tag. I added some ribbon and fibre from my stash.

Wags and Whiskers - Ribbons

This week at wags and whiskers challenge they want us to use ribbons on our cards. Go over to check out the wonderful samples by the DT.

I had been eyeing up these gorgeous stamps for a while and last week I took the plunge and purchased three of the new digital Wags and whiskers stamps. I love digi stamps as they are cheaper and they can be resized to suit your project and you can manipulate them and add texts etc. These can be purchased at Bunny Zoe's craft shop in the UK.

I used this stamp Ryans chocolate trouble. He reminds me of my cheeky son Harry. I coloured him with copics and promarkers. I cut him out using a nestie and I edged the frame with distress ink. I used the Linen closet papers again. The ribbon is from my stash.

Well I was Gobsmacked and extremely touched to see that I have been picked as the Guest DT for next week. Don't forget that if you join in with the challenge this week you too could have this opportunity. Thanks again xxx

Tag you're it - Spring into Spring

Well Good morning to you another glorious day here in London.

We have been so blessed with the weather for the past two weeks. I went to a local eco park yesterday. I went to the local inner city farm and a short walk away is the most beautiful eco park that takes you out of urban London for a short while. There is a hill that you climb up and you can see all over London. A real find for us as it means we can hang out there in the summer when the weather is glorious like today.

Today I am bringing you my DT piece for Tag You're it. The theme is Spring into Spring.

I made this tag for the challenge. I decided to use spring colours for my image. I used pinks, greens, oranges and blue. The blue was inspired by bluebells and the pink by the tree blossom. The oranges from the centre of the daffodils and the green by the sudden emergence of leaves on the trees.

The image is from Sweet Pea Stamps. The background I created with distress inks having masked the image. I then added stickles and stamped on the sentiment and used another stamp to add texture around the image.

I coloured the image with prisma colour pencils and then I added a pearly glittery glue over the top to make her shiney.

I added some embellies and some ribbon and lace and jute from my stash to finish off the tag.

The sentiment says "Joy is not in things, It is in us".

Hop over to see how my lovely teamates interpreted Spring in their tags and why not join in. Tag making is the perfect way to get a craft fix xxx

The store has some wonderful new images available ,so why not pop over to the Digi Doodle shop to see them.

I have used the Foal and Fawn image available Here . I loved the way this encapsulates spring. I thought I would use a really neutral colour pallete as the sketch is so clean. I used prismacolour pencils to colour in my palamino foal and fawn in the image and added some sakura gel pens too. I made a mask to create the distress ink background.

The papers are K&co, the sentiment is The Greeting Farm, the buttons and ribbon are from my stash.

Wags and Whiskers challenge blog - Scallops

Good Evening from an exhausted Mummy. Today has been one of THOSE days. I did an online food shop and it was supposed to be delivered between 9 and 11 am however it eventually arrived at 1.30pm so all plans to go shoe shopping had to be aborted and any plans to do anything as by the time it was unpacked and put away it was time to put the dinner on. So we have had a fractous day at home. I am hoping to get out tomorrow to make up for it.

I was browsing away today and I found out that Wags and Whiskers available at Bunny Zoe's craft shop are now digital (Woo Hoo) so I brought a few and decided to enter the Wags and Whiskers challenge this week. The theme is scallops and there is a chance to be a Guest designer.

I have used my DCWV Linen closet pad and my friend Joey has been raving about this pad and boy is she right too. It is fabulous.

I used the gorgeous "Thinking of You" image isn't she a cutie!!! I flipped her round.

I coloured with my growing collection of copics and I used my new Bazzil gem stencil and some buttons and a sentiment from the stash.

Oh Alice challenge

I have one two year old sleeping (bliss) I have one 5 year old colouring rainbow fish, one 7 year old on the Wii and one ten year old at club. So I thought I would get this card posted on here.

My Sweet Pea Alice in Wonderland plate arrived the other day so I had to have a play and enter this weeks Oh Alice Challenge :

CHAPTER 8: You can learn a lot of things from the FLOWERS...

'Never mind!' Alice said in a soothing tone, and stooping down to the daisies, who were just beginning again, she whispered, `If you don't hold your tongues, I'll pick you!'

There was silence in a moment, and several of the pink daisies turned white.
`That's right!' said the Tiger-lily. `The daisies are worst of all. When one speaks, they all begin together, and it's enough to make one wither to hear the way they go on!'
`How is it you can all talk so nicely?' Alice said, hoping to get it into a better temper by a compliment. `I've been in many gardens before, but none of the flowers could talk.'

I coloured the image with promarkers and copics I then added a bit of glossy accents to the eyes and the red toadstalls. I added some dovecraft papers and some flowers from my ally pally stash. I added distress stickles to the flowers too.

Today I would like to share with you my Design Team card for The Sweet Pea stampers challenge blog

This week we are very excited to announce that we are now sponsored by Sweet Pea Stamps. One lucky person will be picked at random each week as the winner of a Sweet Pea image from Sweet Pea stamps . one:

Each month we will also have a "Card of the Month" and this person will win three Sweet Pea Stamp images.

This week the challenge is to include Acetate on your project. It may be an embellishment, an acetate card, an acetate box, an acetate frame, an acetate window or an acetate wrap. These are just a few suggestions we would love to see what you come up with.

I made this easel card for my sisters birthday card which happens to be ,April the 20th, see details below of the blog hop happening at Sweet Pea stamps blog.

I used MME papers and I used a box card template from My Craft Studio Proffessional countryside gardens CD rom. I used the flowers which are supposed to sit inside the box as my embellishments. After putting the box together I used foam pads to adhere my cut out image to the frame. I used a clarity stamps stamp to stamp onto the acetate before fixing it to the inside of the box on top of the image.

I used distress inks and acrylic paints to create an aged look to the frame and the card and I added some embellishments and ribbon to the card from my stash.

This is taken from the Sweet Pea Stamps blog : "During our one year celebration, I would like to have a customer blog hop. This hop will take place on April 20th. You must make a birthday or anniversary card using one of Sweet Pea Stamp images as your main focus point. You may use other companies sentiments or print up a sentiment using your computer. You will be able to post a link to Mister Linky on the 20th linking it to your blog. I will pick three random winners to receive a free 4" x 5" inch quarter sheet of an image of ching-chou kuik with a couple of birthday/ anniversary sentiments that will be released in the next couple weeks. So spread the word, let's make this hop a big celebration!"

I copied and pasted the image three times.I continued to do this so all four images varied in colour.

I created a background using a shape on my graphics program. I then printed onto glossy paper and cut out leaving a white boarder.

I used a hero arts sentiment directly onto the image. I created a layout using my HOTP papers. I added some roses from my stash to co-ordinate.

Tuesday Taggers

Hi there I am a little bit fustrated today with things not going my way.
The Housing association are refusing to give us compensation for the two bikes we have had stolen from the communnal bike shed that was broken into and never repaired correctly.

They are saying that as it was criminal damage we are unable to claim.

I took my fustration out on this tag by having a colour and a play. It is for Tuesday taggers who this week just want us to make a tag.

I used two digi images available at The digi doodle shop. I resized them and randomly placed them and then printed out onto bristol card. I then cut out a tag shape.
I then used distress ink over the whole tag. Just shabby green at this point. I then coloured in the flowers with prismacolour pencils. I then used my distress ink courdroy brown this time. I then stamped on my sentiments and added a ribbon.

I like the spring feel to this tag and with tulips one of my favourite flowers it is just making me happy looking at it. I hope it gives you that feeling too.

There is a fantastic prize from Georginaon offer so why don't you make a tag and join in.

You could also enter it into Tag you're It which has been relaunched this weekx
Thanks for stopping by hugs Pascale

I added some other stamps to compliment the theme by Shelia Douglas. I added a quote stamp from Crafters Companion. The ribbons and roses are from my stash and the flower stamps are MME.

Finally I used perfect pearls to create a midnight sky and I used distress crackle glaze to go over the top.

Tag You're it Challenge 1 - On a bough

Hi there, Happy Easter, have you scoffed all your chocolate eggs yet.

I will be helping the kids with theirs later on.

First of all I want to share with you some fantastic news.

A while ago my lovely friends Anne and Sam asked me if I wanted to join their DT on the fantastic challenge blog Tag You're it. This is a blog dedicated to those who love making tags.

I used to join in with the wonderful challenges just over a year ago.

The blog was dismantled for a while as other projects took over. It has undergone a Spring clean and we are relaunching with some AMAZING challenges lined up.

The lovelyLinda is also joining us on the DT.

This week the challenge is On a bough. For me, this immediately led me to think of birds and trees.

I used my new Elaine cox image from Sweet Pea stamps. I love this plate of stamps. I firstly cut out a tag. I used distress inks to create a background onto which I stamped my image.

I then coloured on top of the distress ink with my prismacolour pencils. I added some punched leaves also coloured with prismacolour pencils. I then added some glossy accents to the eyes of the owls.

I added a sentiment from the same plate of stamps. I then added some pearls and a ribbon and used a white gel pen to add some faux paperpiercing to the edge of the tag.

I layered the tag onto some pale green card to which daubed some acrylic paint onto the edges.

We would love you to join in with our challenge. xx
